DAUGHTERS OF THE REVOLUTION
Every birth is a story. 4elements Theatre Company in collaboration with AIMS Ireland invites you to share yours.
Daughters of the Revolution is a series of 9 drama and storytelling workshops exploring the experience of maternity in Ireland.
These workshops are offered at no cost as part of a project to create a piece of theatre celebrating women’s birth experiences.
Pregnancy and birth place women at the overlap between public and private spheres. Using storytelling and drama exercises, the workshops will explore how we, as women, navigate the journey of maternity.
To participate you must be over 18, and have dealt with maternity services in Ireland in the last 5 years. Places are limited so please book your place on info@4elements.ie.

4 DAY WORKSHOP ON THEATRE OF THE OPPRESSED
May 23rd-26th
4elements Theatre Company invites you to a 4 day intensive workshop on Theatre of the Oppressed.
This workshop offers training in Theatre of the Oppressed with a focus on Forum Theatre. Participants will learn group facilitation techniques, how to devise Forum Theatre, and how to facilitate or ‘Joker’ a Forum Theatre session.
The Theatre of the Oppressed is the title given to the ensemble of techniques and approaches to theatre pioneered by the Brazilian theatre practitioner Augusto Boal harnessing the power of theatre as a force for social change.
Forum Theatre is an interactive, problem solving model. Performances are devised from collective experience around a specific social issue and shown to an audience as an invitation to engage in the search for a new approach to the problem being presented.
The workshop is open to activists, people working in community contexts, and anyone interested in bringing about social change.
