Dave “Doc”O’Connor A.L.C.M. Doc is originally from Cork but now considers himself a native Dubliner having lived here for over 30 years. He has made a name for himself in the music circles in Dublin and throughout Ireland as Musical Director, Arranger, Composer, Conductor and piano player. He has worked with both professional and non-professional casts on numerous shows and musicals and has worked for some of the best known entertainers in Ireland including Red Hurley, Brendan Grace, Brendan O’Carroll, June Rogers and many more.
His TV work includes The Late Late Show, Kenny Live, and the I.R.M.A. awards. He was Musical Director of the Cork Opera House Christmas Pantomime, which featured a number of his original songs, from 2004 to 2008.
He has also written original music for a shows such as Lane Productions “Women on The Verge of HRT” and “Blood Wedding” at the Project. He has written two musicals “Hard Times”, an award winning show at the Waterford International Festival Of Light Opera and “Whiskey In The Jar” which was staged in 2011.
He was drafted in to Daughters Of The Revolution (by his lovely wife Diana) to turn lyrics and dialogue into songs for the production. We were amazed and delighted by the results and are certain that you will be too. He wasn’t too sure what he was letting himself in for at the outset but has thoroughly enjoyed getting his teeth into this project and has very happily joined the Revolution.
